The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is a museum of modern and contemporary art opened in 1929 and now located in Midtown Manhattan.
Opened in 1929, the museum welcomed over 3 million visitors in 2010, making it the third most visited institution in the United States after the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and the National Gallery of Art (Washington). The institution maintains one of the most important collections of modern and contemporary art in the world with that of the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris) and the Tate Modern (London).
