In the heart of the “Pay Toy”, our hotel is the perfect base camp for discovering the Pyrenees in all seasons. 35 kms from Lourdes, the village of Luz-St-Sauveur is just outside the Pyrenees National Park and the massif of Mont Perdu, now jointly listed for natural and cultural values on the Unesco World Heritage List. In winter you will appreciate the easy access to three of the best downhill ski stations in the Pyrenees.
Luz-Ardiden is 13 kms, Barèges-Tourmalet only 7 kms and Gavarnie 20 kms. Each ski station provides a shuttle bus from Luz village so the choice is yours.
In spring the flowers arrive and the valley walking, with the snow-topped mountains above you, is spectacular. Early summer sees the arrival of cyclists testing their legs on the famous Tour de France routes over the Col du Tourmalet and up to Luz-Ardiden. And the hikers: from families spotting marmots and izards, to serious climbers with their ice picks. There are walks for everyone, along with a varied range of summer activities (see the Tourism page). If all this seems too energetic why not try a rejuvenating thermal bath. In autumn the colours of the changing leaves lend themselves nicely to more cultural exploration – the mountain villages and churches along the high route of the pilgrimage trail to Santiago de Compostella. Whatever the season, we look forward to hosting your visit to our mountains.
Hotel closed from 12 October to 15 November and from 15 April to 18 July
