Built in 1877, this authentic farm with its mountain style architecture typical of Haute Savoie, had housed several genetaions of alpine pasture farmers up until the year 2000 when, 123 years after being built, it was transformed into a Hotel-Restauant. On entering La Ferme du Lays, you will be transported into a world or richness and serenity, the world of the mountains. Located at the entrance to the resort of Carroz, just 800m from the centre, you will be able to enjoy all of the delights of the ski slopes, just 1km away, while ebasking in the authentic charm of a typical mountain village. At the end of a day on the slopes you will appreciate the possibility of unwinding your weary body and muscles in the hotel's sauna before taking a seat at your table to partake of one our typical mountain dishes by the open fireplace of our restaurant.
Located in the heart of the Grand Massif (265km of ski slopes), you can indulge in all sorts of winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, telemark, skidoo, dog sledding. You can even try your hand at ice driving on a track designed especially for this discipline in Flaine 30 minutes from our hotel. In summer the mountains offer numerous activities such as hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, swimming (outdoor pools just 800m from the hotel), horse riding, bowling, canyoning, rafting, golf (18 holes at Col de Pierre Carré located at 1900m above sea level: the highest in Europe). Whatever the season, you can enjoy a pleasant walk at the Cirque Sixt Fer à Cheval (20km away, a.k.a. "the end of the world") and take a cable car ride to the Aiguille du Midi or the train to Mer de Glace. Annecy, and its old town known as Little Venice, is just 50km away, as is Lake Geneva (50Km) and the medieval town of Yvoire with its exceptional architecture.
