The Hotel de Provence Digne les Bains proposes you its 17 rooms. Secured online booking.
Since 1st August 2005 we have been welcoming guests to our fine hotel decorated in the colours of Provence. In our fully refurbished hotel you will discover period furniture, a staircase with terracotta paving and a superb walnut handrail, all serving as a reminder that this is a house steeped in history. The hotel backs onto the centre of the old town of Digne les Bains, and thus provides a pleasant, peaceful and deliciously authentic setting. The hotel is just opposite the cinema and the swimming pool and just a stone's throw from a French boules pitch and a special cycle track that enables yoiu to visit the surroundings. Our refurbished, comfortable and soundproofed bedrooms are of different sizes, accommodating between 1 and 5 guests. All are equipped with bath or shower, WC, TV and telephone. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. Each of our rooms has a different theme, e.g. "Maria Borrély", "poppies" and "butterflies". In hot weather you will appreciate the shade of plane trees and our exterior lounge area, ideal for an afternoon nap. Coming from a mountain family, the owners acquired from a very early age a sense of respect for nature and are therefore extremely attentive to notions of energy saving and sustainable development - our bathrooms are all equipped with water-saving materials and all of our cleaning products are environment-friendly...
"The lavender capital of Digne les Bains is a wonderful place to experience the colours and smells of Provence and offers a wide range of activities. As its name would suggest, the town is known for its thermal hot springs and has been a mecca for holistic cure-seekers since Roman times. Other points of interest include the Gassendi museum and the Alexandra David-Neel foundation, the geological reserve and the butterfly reserve. At the beginning of August each year the town organizes its Lavendar festival (corso), 5 days and 5 evenings of festivities: floats, dancers, musicians, stories... and at the end of August, the Lavendar fair brings the curtain down on the season. The René Char cultural centre has a programme of events all year round and every September the Alexandra David Neel foundation organizes a series of Tibetan Days.
The town is ideally located for visiting sites in the surrounding region: Verdon gorges, Valensole plateau (3000 h.a. of lavendar) and Moustier Sainte-Marie (35km), the mountain passes and villages of the southern Alps - Barcelonnette, Briançon ... St Véran (65km), sunny Lubéron (50km), the French rivieira and its mythical towns (150km), the rocky inlets (""calanques"") of Marseille (140km)... and for those in search of thrills and spills, you may wish to try whitewater rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed, treetop adventure and paragliding (35km)."
