The Relais du Silence-Silencehotel hotel chain was established in 1968 by independent hoteliers wishing to pool their resources to carry out national and international actions.

In 1993, the International Union of all the National Associations was created to form an Economic Interest Grouping.

With its 262 hotels in Europe, the philosophy behind this voluntary chain is to offer a calm and silent environment, a warm welcome by hotel owners in a family atmosphere in hotels ranging from seven to fifty rooms and two to four stars hotels.
