The little house is just situated at the edge of the village of Chalabre. It's a very quiet area and you have from the terrace a wide open, beautiful, view on the mountains. The house has 2 bedrooms. The living room has a fireplace and TV. A bathroom with bath and separate shower and a bidet. A private toilet, a hall closet with washing machine, microwave and all stuff for ironing. It has a kitchen with, oven, dish washer and a big fridge. There is a carport for your car and in the back of the garden with easy access a shed for bikes and ski material. Cleaning stuff, towels, bedding and sheets included.

Chalabre is a typical French little village with 300 inhabitants. It has it's own pizzeria, 2 bars , 2 bakeries and 2 supermarkets and much more.

The most colorful markets are in Mirepoix on a monday and Esperaza on a sunday. They are real hippie markets. There is a lot to see and to do in the neighbourhoud. At 2 km from the house is a big lake: Lac de Montbel". Here you can swim or do watersports. Also there are a lot of caves to visite, the woods with pixies in Nebias, the waterfalls at laroque de Cascade. The litlle house is not so far from 2 big ski areas. (Mont d'Olmes (39 km) and Camurac (37km). It;s nice to go there for a day. The ski areas are the less expensive of the Pyrenees.

On plateâu du Sault you can buy handmade food and there are e few restaurants with their own cultivated meet and cheese. Limoux is famous for it's special wine. Blanquet de Limoux. It's better than champagne!

Mirepoix
Mirepoix is a historic town in the Ariège,25 minutes away from La Borde Blanque.
On Monday mornings in the square there is a bustling market,
The centre of Mirepoix is built around the place de Couverts which in turn has the 14th century Maison des Consuls as its main attraction.
The overhanging arcades have exposed beams and from these there are approximately 150 individually carved wooden heads.
The cathedral of St-Maurice, built in the Gothic style, has a particularly wide nave.

Carcassonne
The Walled City of Carcassonne is known first and foremost as a fortified medieval town; but this rocky outcrop has been occupied by man since the 6th century B.C., first as a gaul settlement, then as a Roman town fitted with ramparts as early as the 3rd and 4th centuries A.D.
The Cité is still inhabited today. 52 towers and 2 concentric enclosures add up to a total of 3 km of ramparts.
Visitors can discover at no charge (except for the Castle) a major section of the Cité: the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire, the lists, the ramparts, the Porte Narbonnaise and Porte d'Aude, and life inside the walls.
