You are here on the Causses du Quercy plateau, with its limestone soil, dry stone walls, oaks and maple trees, its unique biodiversity.
The cottage is surrounded by hiking and mountain biking trails.
The village of Saint-Antonin is 7 km away, a small medieval town which offers many cultural and leisure activities.
You can go to the arthouse cinema in the village, register for free for the duration of your stay at the media library, discover the surrounding heritage riches, practice climbing, canoeing, horse riding, go to the municipal swimming pool without discovering forget the Aveyron which crosses the village and offers many bathing sites.
Housing
It is a typical Quercy house, entirely renovated with organic, sourced, natural and as local as possible materials.
Here everything has been thought of to have the lightest possible ecological footprint on our planet.
Electricity is 100% renewable via the Enercoop network. However, we have been careful to equip the home with energy-efficient devices.
Dry toilets, new generation with integrated composting, participate in a rational management of water. The wastewater is treated on site by a phyto-purification system which ends in a basin where frogs and toads roam among the water lilies.
The quality insulation keeps the house cool in summer and easily heats it in winter via central heating with wood pellets. A wood stove is there to temper the inter-seasons.
You have a large living room kitchen-dining-living room which opens onto a small covered terrace, 2 double bedrooms and a bedroom with 4 bunk beds (an extra double sofa in the living room allows 2 additional beds). There are 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers and a toilet.
Around you a private plot of land at the gîte, fenced by dry stone walls, of around 500 m², with garden furniture, barbecue and cabins for children…
And all around an area of about 3 hectares where you can walk: a small forest, orchard, where our donkeys, cats, dogs and chickens evolve.
We are "Refuge LPO" and therefore multiple birds nest and live around us, insect hotels enrich biodiversity and allow you to discover the world of insects.
I cultivate on 2 vegetable gardens which allow us to get fresh seasonal vegetables, without pesticides of course.
I also offer simple and vegetarian ready meals… And let's not forget the 2 large zinc basins where children can snort when the sun is shining!
We live next to the cottage, the privacy of each family is preserved, and we can be there to guide you in the discovery of the region and the nature that surrounds us.
