Some objects evoke the military and maritime themes on the walls in the courtyard and at the top of the tower of Fort Balaguier. These are many cannons, anchors and other items that belonged to different types of boats. The chapel is home for its collections with the history of the prison. It was first installed in the port of Toulon, in ancient galleys disarmed and overseas, to Cayenne, from 1853. The presentation is based on numerous objects (obstacles convicts, tools, books ...) panels explain their lives and detention. Finally, the ramparts are stored seven boats of very diverse origin and not currently under any valuation. They are not truly be considered as included in the permanent exhibition of the museum but could be an extension of the visit, since they are part of its collections and they are visible to the public.
