The Condé Museum is housed in the castle of Chantilly, about thirty miles north of Paris, surrounded by a park of 115 hectares, designed by André Le Nôtre, the gardener favorite of Louis XIV. It has one of the best French collections of old paintings, manuscripts and various documents. In a magnificent site, it also reflects the decorative art of the old regime.
