From August 19 to 22, 1944, in the Falaise-Chambois, takes place the final stage of the Battle of Normandy, the Allied troops surround the 5th and 7th German army who, after a desperate struggle, make weapons, opening the road to Paris ... and Germany.

Built on the "Call 262", where the clashes took place the most violent, the memorial of Montormel-Coudehard maintains the memory of those who gave their lives for the liberation of France, and especially the First Polish Armoured Division whose role in the Allied troops was decisive.
