40600 BISCARROSSE-BOURG
Lake Biscarrosse and parents is a lake of the Aquitaine coast, part of the Great Lakes Landes.
Biscarrosse side, the lake hosted a major seaplane base, used for the Aéropostale and Latécoère Company and Air France as an international airport (transatlantic flights).
The lake has been a renewed interest in 1954 with the discovery of oil slicks. These oil slicks, still used today, are the largest reserve of crude French. Oil is used on the lake, the town of Parentis.
