The construction of the first Pionsat Castle dates back to the late fourteenth century, the heart of the Hundred Years War. In 1482, Jacques de Chazeron Pionsat bought the land and improve the castle. His descendants, Francois and Antoine de Chazeron, had more grandiose project: the Renaissance castle was designed to be very broad, and its construction, if it had been fully completed, would likely have eliminated the medieval fortress. Begun in 1550, construction stopped in 1610.
This is an unfinished building that Charlotte Chazeron Chabannes transmitted to the family by marriage. Since 1920, the castle "Renaissance", owned by the Commune, is classified a historical monument.
