Vestiges de l’aqueduc romain à Chaponost

Roman aqueducts of Gier, length estimated at 75 km, were built during the reign of Hadrian in the second century to allow the water supply source in the city of Lugdunum (Lyon) from Mount Pilat (water drawn from the Gier).
Arches (92 arches of 550 m) are located on the town at a place called the Plat of the Air.
Another important part can be seen in the town of Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, in the locality of Beaune.
Their lines totaling more than two hundred kilometers long.
