Le Rocher Corneille volcanic culminating at 757 meters and 130 meters above the city is crowned by the monumental statue of Our Lady of France. This statue was built between 1856 and 1860 under the leadership of Bishop of Morlhon, bishop of Puy-en-Velay, in agreement with the civil authorities, with many gifts and a national subscription.
