The Palace is one of the four municipalities of the island of Belle-Ile-en-Mer, the largest by population and its administrative and port.
Located on the east coast, the village of Palais and its three basins are located in a former estuary, well sheltered on the north by the rock of the citadel.
Its south facing slopes are covered with gardens growing southern plants: vines, fig trees, chestnuts, walnuts, palm trees, bougainvillea.
The Palace Port is the port of arrival for those coming from Quiberon with his vehicle. It is also a popular marina in the summer.
