Palais de la Berbie

Among the houses that the bishops of southern France became built during the Middle Ages, there are few who have the magnitude of the Episcopal Palace of Albi. Now known as the Palais de la Berbie, deformation of the Occitan name meaning Bisbia bishopric, this impressive fortress is due for its oldest part of the prelates who succeeded to the seat during the Albigensian XIII century.
