Placide Massey native of Tarbes talented horticulturist and director of the Park of Trianon at Versailles was the owner and creator of a garden with rare species. He gave it to his home in the city that progressively adjust to all the concurrence of the public. Achille Jubinal great scholar and art lover, generous patron, member of the Hautes-Pyrénées and mayor of Bagneres de Bigorre, was originally the creation of a museum in Tarbes for which he donated his collections.
