Musée Lapidaire

The Lapidary Museum contains relics carved from the demolished portions of the Abbey of Mozac and its priories. You can admire the shrine of Calmin and Namadi, the largest in the world champlevé enamels from Limoges (technique on copper). The shrine of St Austell (his head is Issoire), painted wood, but less well presented. Other shrines, chalices, chasubles (embroidered with gold and silver). The rest has disappeared or has been squandered or sold, as this beautiful fabric yielded to the Byzantine Museum tissues Lyon (to pay for repairs to the roof).
