Musée du Présidial

This mansion of the early seventeenth century, prestigious residence of former President of Présidial, brings together the old paintings (XVI - XVIII centuries) Museum of Fine Arts, founded in 1864 thanks to the legacy of Count Louis Lemercier: Flemish schools Dutch (Jan Brueghel de Velours, Gillis Coignet, Schooten Floris) French school of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (Gaspard Rigaud, Stephen Allegrain, Charles de la Traverse). One room is devoted to ceramics saintongeaise the fourteenth to the nineteenth century, recalling that the rich heritage of Bernard Palissy.
