Musée du Dolder

Defensive work, watch tower and belfry, the Dolder, built in 1291, houses over 4 floors a local history museum where you can find: the remains from excavations around Riquewihr (Merovingian tombs, ruins of a twelfth-century castle), books and old documents, a collection of weapons of fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, tools and products of local handicrafts since the seventeenth century cooperage, metalwork ... weapons and documents that recall the struggles of two world wars of the twentieth century in Colmar. Since the fourth floor of this 25 m high tower, the view over the rooftops of the city and the surrounding landscape is incomparable.
