The museum, which exhibits objects found during the excavations of the ancient necropolis colony, is located in the Fort of MATRA, built by the Genoese in the fourteenth century. The Fort consists of an irregular quadrilateral built on two levels with a central courtyard covering a cistern. It has a strong square tower at the southeast corner.
