Despite the ups and downs caused by the two world wars, the museum has continued to increase its collections through purchases, donations or allocations. It has become the repository of rich collections extremely varied. Around the nucleus formed by the paleontological samples, mineralogical and zoological, were aggregated by-law in 1991, the Museum's collections and Industrial and Commercial in 1992, those of the Museum devoted to the ethnography Moillet outside Europe once held at the Palais of Fine Arts.
