Opened in 1998, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art stands on the banks of the Ill River in the heart of historic Strasbourg. Designed by architect Adrien Fainsilber, its design is based on the clarity and openness, and provides convenient access to the various departments of the museum exhibition spaces, permanent collections, cabinets of graphic arts and photography, educational services, library , auditorium, and a restaurant and a bookshop.
Collections, enriched with several deposits of institutions and individuals, covering the period from 1870 to the present and a geographical area mainly focused on Western Europe.
