Mémorial de Montormel-Coudehard

From August 19 to 22, 1944, in the Falaise-Chambois, takes place the final stage of the Battle of Normandy, the Allied troops surround the 5th and 7th German army who, after a desperate struggle, make weapons, opening the road to Paris ... and Germany.

Tragic period, which saw the deaths of thousands of soldiers and civilians. Built on the "Call 262", where the clashes took place the most violent, the memorial of Montormel-Coudehard maintains the memory of those who gave their lives for the liberation of France, and especially the First Polish Armoured Division whose role in the Allied troops was decisive. The itinerary of the exhibition, accompanied by a guide, gives visitors a comprehensive overview of the history of the Falaise-Chambois, not to mention the heavy casualties of the Battle of Normandy.
