Montcineyre Lake is a lake of volcanic origin located in the Massif Central, specifically in the Auvergne region, in the department of Puy de Dome, at the boundary between massive and the Monts Dore Cézallier, on the town of Compains.
Located 1182 m above sea level, is a dammed lake: the volcano Montcineyre by blocking the flow of a river formed this lake has a crescent shape, a depth of 18 m and an area of 40 hectares.
