Lac de Drennec

Artificial lake of about 110 hectares, is located between the Drennec Commana and Sizun. Trout fisherman's paradise, the water reservoir is also home to a marina. In summer, the site is a cool oasis in the heart of popular Arrée hills, through wooded hills that surround it. In winter, when the area is returned to the wild, migratory birds are a welcome break. After returning from a hike on the ridges, walkers also benefit from the tranquility this enchanting landscape.

The lake, patch of blue water reflecting the foliage of the elms and poplars, is also an ideal spot for fishing. Its purity and rich aquatic vegetation are particularly suitable for trout. It is fed by a river, Elorn which originates in the heart of a bog of the Monts d'Arrée and a stream, the Mougau.

At the foot of the dam, the Maison du Lac informs visitors and raises awareness about the preservation of water quality and landscapes. Located in an old mill along the Elorn, the House of the River at Sizun is a wealth of information, you will discover all about what swims, runs or flies in this fragile environment: the life cycles of the otter , salmon and kingfisher will have no secret for you at the end of the visit. A footpath of about 8 km can go around the lake, in order to enjoy the wooded shores
