La statue du P’tit Quinquin

In 1853 Alexander Desrousseaux consists in Lille The canchon dormoire (literally Song for sleeping), known as the Little Quinquin. It tells the story in the local dialect of a poor lace-maker of the Saint-Sauveur, which persists in her baby Narcisse to sleep. The Monument Square Foch is a replica of the recent original, exposed to the Town Hall. This is due to the sculptor Eugène Desplechin (1902).
