La Grand Garde

Built in 1717 by Thomas Joseph Gombert was the next to the King of France at the center of the city recently annexed. The building was in fact to house soldiers of the watch. Especially the introduction of a new architecture, classical, in a Flemish city of brick and stone. It is recognized on the pediment the sun of Louis XIV, and from both sides of the arms of France and Lille. It is currently the headquarters of the North Theatre.
