Fontaine Subé

Subé the fountain is a fountain located on the Place Drouet d'Erlon in the center of Reims, she replaced the statue of Drouet d'Erlon.

Thanks to donations of 200,000 gold francs of Reims Subé Auguste died in 1889. After a call for proposals in 1903 which received 87 responses, sculptors Gasq Paul, Paul and Louis Auban Baral, the ornamental and architect Charles Wary of Andre Najoux manufacture in the overcoming of Fame bronze and dedicating it to four rivers that cross the Marne. The first stone was laid May 23, 1904, it was inaugurated July 15, 1906.
In 1942, the occupant removes the bronze statue.

Its summit is topped by a golden angel and the pedestal are carved the Suippe, the Marne, the Vesle and the Aisne that drain each of a conch, is an allegory that never had water.
It is surmounted by a large golden Victory Jean Barat laid in 1989 named Glory.
