Chutes du Carbet

97130 CAPESTERRE BELLE EAU

Falls Carbet are three waterfalls produced by the Carbet. They are located on the island of Basse-Terre National Park of Guadeloupe, in the rain forest at the foot of the volcano of La Soufrière.

In 1493, Christopher Columbus described in his diary, he also nicknamed the island of "Karukera" results in the island "of beautiful waters".

They are one of the most visited sites on the island with about 400,000 visitors a year.

The first fall, the highest, is 115 meters high, is reached by a long steep path. The source of Carbet is two miles above it, at 1300 meters.

From its 110 meters, the second fall is the most touristy of the three, because of its accessibility. She was joined by a concrete path and very well done. The last fall is 20 meters high. Only experienced hikers will enjoy this fall that has the highest rate of Guadeloupe.
