The castle of Michel de Montaigne, squire of Montaigne (1533-1592), on the borders of the Bordeaux area and the Perigord. Built in the XIVth century, this castle had been rebilt several time, and especially after the fire wich destroyed it partly in 1885. It's now a private property closed to the visit.
The Tower, saved from the flames, was Montaigne's refuge.
