Eric von Vorys, November 2008 (United States) Note : 5/5 If you are visiting Marseille, you must stay at Le Petit Jardin. It is on a narrow one-way street and may be difficult to find at night, but it is well worth the effort. My wife and I stayed in the well-appointed Asia room. The walls look like they were hewn out of solid rock giving it a dazzling "cave-like" quality, but the subdued lighting added the right amount of warmth to the ambiance. It has a separate bathroom and shower also with rough-hewn rock walls. The room wants for nothing. It seems to be designed with one goal: to make the traveler not want to leave. The owners made us feel at home from the minute we arrived, which was late in the evening due to the heavy rains that slowed our progress. By the time we pulled in, it was well past the customary check-in time. We were tired from the drive and soaked from the pouring rain, but our hosts welcomed us in at that untimely hour and even fed us a simple, but excellent late dinner with an first-rate local wine.
