- Direction "Centre Ville" along the banks of the Rhone.
- Turn left when you are facing the walls of the city.
- Follow signs for "Porte Saint Lazare", enter the city by the "Porte Saint Lazare" at the 3rd traffic light to the right with a U-turn so you are driving along the street "Rue du Rempart Saint Lazare" part of the city walls, until the 4th street on the left "Rue Crémade".
Via highway A9
- Follow Highway A9 until the "Remoulins" exit
- Follow directions to Avignon
- Pass the bridge "Pont de l'Europe", take direction "Centre historique, Palais des Papes".
- Drive along the Rhone then enter the city by the "Porte Saint Lazare" on the right, after passing the famous bridge Pont Saint Benezet and "Porte de la Ligne".
- Avoid the tunnel indicating "toutes directions" on the right.
- Follow "Rue du Rempart Saint-Lazare" part of the city walls until the 4th street on the left "Rue Crémade".

We stayed in the rental apartment and used it as our home base to explore Avignon and for day trips to Villeneuve, Pont du Gard, Les Baux, and the amazing countryside to the north and east of Avignon. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, very well equipped, and is conveniently located. The owner, Mme Assad, is an English-speaking French treasure. She is the perfect hostess and advisor, helping with restaurant recommendations and reservations, suggestions for sightseeing in Avignon and in the surrounding country-side, and with suggestions about the best local markets, shops and wines. We're already talking about our next visit.

Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de l'accueil de la propriétaire des lieux : madame Aïda Assad, très à l'écoute de ces hôtes, d'une extrême gentillesse. L'appartement est très bien agencé, très bien équipé. Le Clos du Rempart est le point de départ idéal pour visiter cette ville au patrimoine très riche. Enfin, quel délice de pouvoir se reposer dans le patio au charme fou ...

Véritable petit oasis à quelques minutes du centre ville d’Avignon, accueil parfait, réveil le matin aux chants des oiseaux, petit déjeuner exquis. Le plaisir de retrouver une chambre extrêmement confortable après une longue journée de marche et de visites culturelles dans Avignon. Belle salle de bain et matelas idéal. Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et la serviabilité de notre hôtesse, le confort et la propreté des lieux.
Dès que avons pénétré dans cette très agréable demeure du 19éme siècle, nous avons été subjugués par la luminosité qui y règne, par son décor reposant et chaleureux. Et le patio, quel petit bijou !!! Il a le privilège de figurer dans le livre des « Jardins Secrets d’Avignon ».
Aïda, nous reviendrons et avec quel plaisir !!!!
