La Ferme Loubetas is an ancient farm set in 8 hectares of landscaped woods and fields in the foothills of the highest Peaks of the central French Pyrenees. The farm nestles on a hillside above the tiny village of Asque, on the edge of the Pyrenees National Park.

This is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers, where you will find peace and seclusion in a beautiful setting, and, at the same time, have easy access to a wide range of attractions and activities to suit most tastes.

Immediately around us are the unspoilt Baronnies - a timeless world of tiny villages with simple baroque churches, ancient lime-plastered farms, green pastures, rolling hills clad with dense forests of beech, ash, oak, chestnut and pine, crystal clear streams, waterfalls, and spectacular caves. And further afield there is lots more to discover, from Nature Reserves in the High Pyrenees, with their amazing fauna and flora, to charming small towns, such as Bagnères de Bigorre, with its museums, thermal baths and truly local Saturday morning market.

We offer the following accommodation, and also provide delicious three-course dinners on request, using, where possible, organic produce from our vegetable garden or from local farms:

3 ROOMS IN THE FARM WITH SINGLE BEDS. The bedrooms are on the first floor of the restored barn, accessed from a long corridor, and have wooden floors and some sloping ceilings. They are all simply and tastefully decorated. The building is centrally heated, with additional electric radiators in all bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a large dining room/kitchen, a playroom with ping-pong and piano, and a large relaxation/yoga room.

BEDROOM 1 in the Farm (Family room for 2-4 people)
A spacious room (25 m²) with 4 single beds (2 can be placed together for couples), an en suite wash area and shower, and a private toilet immediately adjacent in the corridor. Its eastern gable wall is in natural stone, with double-windows facing onto the farm’s trees and pastures. Let yourself be lulled to sleep by the hooting of owls, the gentle trickling of our stream, and the muted tinkling of cowbells.

BEDROOM 3 in the Farm (1-2 people)
This charming double bedroom under the eaves (14 m²) has 2 single beds which can be placed together or apart, an en suite wash area, a private shower immediately outside the door, and a private toilet just down the corridor. Its velux-style window faces south, with views over the grassed courtyard to the mountains opposite. Many people leave the blind open at night to lie and gaze at the intensely starry skies.

BEDROOM 5 in the Farm (1-2 people)
This is our smallest (and cosiest !) double bedroom under the eaves (10 m²). It has 2 single beds which can be placed together or apart, an en suite wash area, a private shower immediately outside the door, and a private toilet just down the corridor. Its velux-style window faces south, with views over the grassed courtyard to the mountains opposite. Here too, many people leave the blind open at night to lie and gaze at the intensely starry skies.

2 B&B APARTMENTS. These are in a recently-built chalet-style building overlooking one of our pastures, 100 metres above the farmhouse.; they sit on either side of a central apartment let as a gîte. They both offer a bedroom, bathroom, charming living room and a lovely south-facing terrace. The apartments are light and airy and have wonderful views over the valley, forest, meadows and mountains. Each has its own private entrance and private patio or terrace.

B&B APARTMENT EAST (2-3 people)
This simply and attractively decorated apartment (29 m²) has a bedroom with 2 single beds placed together (they cannot be fully separated), a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a lovely sitting room with wood stove. Efficient electric heating is provided, as is a kettle, cups ..., an outside table and chairs, deckchairs and sunshade. The French windows of the sitting room look south over the private patio, with a magnificent view to the valley and mountains opposite. A third person can sleep on the sofa-bed in the sitting room.

B&B APARTMENT WEST (2-3 people)
This simply and attractively decorated apartment (29 m²) has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a lovely sitting room with wood stove. Efficient electric heating is provided, as is a fridge, induction plate, microwave, coffee-machine, kettle and cups etc, and outside table and chairs, deckchairs and sunshade. There is no kitchen (washing up is done in a bowl in the bathroom). The French windows of the sitting room look south over the private wooden terrace, which has a magnificent view to the valley and mountains opposite (the view features on the website roomswithgreatviews). A third person can sleep on the sofa-bed in the sitting room.

You will find us on Google Maps by entering "La Ferme Loubetas France" (click the link with the Red Marker).

FROM TOULOUSE BY CAR: take the A64 towards Tarbes. After travelling about 80 km on the motorway you will pass close to Saint-Gaudens and some 30 km further on you will pass close to Lannemezan. 4 km further from there, leave the motorway at Exit 15 (Capvern) and follow the instructions from Exit 15 below.

FROM PAU BY CAR: take the A64 towards Toulouse. After travelling 34 km on the motorway you will pass close to Tarbes, and then 33 km further on, leave the motorway at Exit 15 (Capvern) and follow the instructions from Exit 15 below.

- From Exit 15 on the A64 you will arrive at a large roundabout and should take the second exit, for Capvern.

- However, If you are low on fuel our nearest (and cheapest) petrol station is here: instead, take the first exit off the large roundabout (signed D817 to Foix, Toulouse and Lannemezan), and after about 1.5 km turn right at the first roundabout into Intermarche Supermarket to fill up. Double back to the large roundabout and take the first turn off, for Capvern. Then follow the instructions below.

- At the next roundabout do NOT take the first turn off (to Capvern-les-Bains and Péré, Tournay, Tarbes and Lourdes). Take the second turn off, signed to Capvern-Centre, Les Craouès, Abbeye de L’Escaladieu, Chateau du Mauvezin and Bagnères de Bigorre.

- As you enter Capvern, the road rises slightly to the Mairie (Town Hall) on the left, then bends slightly right and descends slightly. Continue along the straight level stretch for a few hundred meters and then take a sharp turn left (D139), signed to Molère and Benqué, Sarlabous, Moulin des Baronnies.

- Pass by the edge of Molère and then pass through Benqué, continuing on the D139.

- About 1 km from Benqué you reach a T junction. Turn left here onto the D14, direction Bulan/Gouffre d’Esparros. You will almost immediately see a turn to Sarlabous, Moulin des Baronnies, etc on your right (DO NOT take it!). Continue on the D14 for a few kilometers and then take the first right turn, to Bulan/Batsère (D82), passing over a little bridge.

- Pass through Batsère and continue on to Bulan on the D82.

- After entering Bulan, turn right onto the D26 for Asque/Bagnères de Bigorre. Continue through Bulan on the main road, following signs for Asque/Bagnères de Bigorre. Shortly after Bulan you will climb to reach the tiny hamlet of Couret d'Asque.

- As you reach the top of Couret d'Asque you will see an area on your left with a telephone box and picnic table and a left turning. Turn left here, following a sign for "La Source Gîte B&B".

- Then, almost immediately turn sharp right down into "Cami Deras Estrapas"—you will see a sign for "La Source Gîte and B&B" below the road sign at the turning.

- Travel down the hill 200 meters, until you reach the sign "La Source Loubetas Gîte and B&B."

- Please park in the marked parking area on the left, just before the sign, if you don’t have heavy luggage, or turn left at the sign and descend the track 100 meters to the farmhouse to unload (and park). For the bed and breakfast apartments, don’t descend (they are close to the parking).
